F424 polyaspartic ester resin is a difunctional cycloaliphatic polyaspartic resin and a high-performance raw material for polyaspartic polyurea systems. It appears as a clear liquid with a slight yellow to light yellow tint and a color value of ≤400 Hazen (Pt-Co), reflecting consistent purity and stable quality. When used with isocyanate hardeners, F424 is well suited for formulating fast-curing polyaspartic coatings, adhesives, and related materials. It offers an excellent balance of hardness and flexibility, helping finished systems achieve strong mechanical performance without becoming brittle.
1. Low viscosity for easier application
With a viscosity of 400–700 mPa·s at 25°C, F424 falls within the low-viscosity range, making it especially well suited for solvent-free coatings and adhesives. It provides excellent flow and workability during application, whether by brush or spray, helping reduce common issues such as sagging and uneven film build. Its solvent-free nature also supports lower VOC emissions and aligns well with the growing demand for more sustainable building materials. With a solid content of ≥99.0% (105°C, 2h), F424 contains virtually no volatile solvent, allowing applicators to achieve the desired film thickness more efficiently in a single coat.
2. Fast cure with a longer pot life
F424 is designed for fast-curing systems, helping shorten turnaround times and improve application efficiency. At the same time, it offers a longer pot life than F420, giving applicators greater flexibility during mixing and application without the material setting too quickly. This improves handling and makes the system easier to process on site. From a chemical performance standpoint, F424 has an amine value of 160–175 mg KOH/g, an NH equivalent of 333 g/mol, and an equivalent hydroxyl content of 5.10%. This balanced functional design helps deliver a more controlled curing reaction, combining fast dry times with a practical application window.
3. Built for weatherability and demanding outdoor use
F424 helps coatings deliver the durability needed to protect structures in demanding outdoor and industrial environments. When formulated with isocyanate hardeners, it can be used to produce polyaspartic polyurea coatings with excellent weather resistance, including strong UV resistance and long-term durability under outdoor exposure. Even in harsh sunlight, coatings based on F424 are less likely to chalk or crack over time. They also offer strong resistance to acids, alkalis, and a wide range of chemicals, helping protect substrates reliably in industrial environments. In addition, F424 has a moisture content of ≤0.1% and a relative density of 1.02 ± 0.02 at 25°C. Its very low moisture level helps minimize application defects such as bubbling and blushing, while its stable density contributes to consistent batch-to-batch quality.
4. A strong balance of toughness and flexibility
As a polyaspartic resin with a cyclohexyl structure, F424 offers an attractive combination of mechanical properties. It delivers high tensile strength, allowing the coating to withstand tensile and mechanical stress without failing easily. At the same time, it provides excellent flexibility, enabling the coating to move with the substrate under slight deformation or vibration rather than becoming brittle, cracking, or delaminating.
